TERRENO LE BONILLE DI SOPRA 2021

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG

Our grapes sourced from the vineyard of Bonille are used for this Chianti Classico Riserva. Bonille is a vineyard with south- and southwest exposure and the vines grow on hand-built terraces in clay soil rich in calcareous. As a result, the wine has a tighter and spicier profile. It is aged in large oak barrels (12, 24 and 32 hl) and has a great aging potential.

About the vintage

The weather in the vintage year 2021 was regular. Rains in spring provided abundant water supplies for the drier summer months. From late August, the temperatures remained high during the day but dropped considerably during the night—another great vintage from Chianti Classico with slightly smaller production.

In the glass

Inviting aromas of ripe cherries, forest berries and peppery spices with a taste of finely preserved fruit and hints of chocolate and tobacco. A full-bodied, age worthy wine with a marked freshness and high elegant tannins.

Combined with food

The wine is perfect with risotto with Tuscan pecorino and sausage or a tender Florentine steak and with rich soups with lentils and chickpeas.
